Castellón, December 22, 2016 –
The Councillor for Territorial Planning, Mobility and Metropolitan Area of the Castellón City Council, Rafael Simó; the Deputy Mayor of the West District, Verònica Ruiz; the Head of Service of FACSA In Castellón, Manuel Breva and the municipal engineer, Cristóbal Badenes, visited this morning the new public reverse osmosis fountain for the free supply of water to the neighborhood of Raval Universitari.
This new fountain is located on the ground floor of 37 Honori García García Street and has a capacity of over 4,000 liters per day. The water supplied is treated by a reverse osmosis process and subsequently remineralized to achieve physical and chemical properties similar to bottled mineral water.
The facility's condition is checked daily for hygiene and proper use, and the data collected by the meters is analyzed weekly to verify its proper functioning and supply.
Rafael Simó thanked FACSA for its “social commitment to the city” and highlighted that “this facility will contribute to giving more life to a neighborhood as expansive, vibrant and young as Raval Universitari.”.
In Castellón, water fountains filtered using reverse osmosis technology supply more than 11,000 cubic meters of water per year, equivalent to 11 million liters annually. This new installation joins six others already in place for public water supply, located on Alcalde Tárrega, Cataluña, Maestro Falla, and Amalio Gimeno streets, at the Sant Pere del Grao Market, and in the Marjalería area.
