• The works have a total investment of more than one million euros and are part of the Master Plan for Works and Improvements planned for the town.
The Borriana City Council and FACSA have begun work to renew more than 4.3 kilometers of pipes belonging to both the drinking water supply and sewage networks in the town center. This work is part of the Master Plan for Works and Improvements and represents a total investment of over one million euros.
For the drinking water network, the planned works include an investment of €557,043.35 to renew a total of 2,760 meters of pipes with diameters ranging from 75 to 315 mm, in addition to work on more than 300 service connections. As for the sewage system, the improvement plan covers 1,600 meters of pipes, with a budget of €498,562.50.
The works, currently underway, have already allowed for the renewal of the section of the sewer network running along Mitja Galta Street, as well as the installation of new drinking water pipes on Calvari Street. These works are now being completed with the installation of new sewer and drinking water pipes on Vicent Andrés Estellés and San Germán Streets. New paving will also be installed on these streets once the work is finished. The sewer network on Víctor Marín Puig Street will also be renewed and the affected pavement replaced.
The Councillor for Services of the Borriana City Council, Vicent Aparisi, who today visited the works accompanied by the Director of the Supply Area of FACSA, Pascual Maximino, as well as by the Head of the Southern Zone of the company, Óscar Peris, highlighted that “we have been able to see how the works are progressing at a good pace, and the objective of modernizing both the sewage and water networks with the best materials is being met, as well as trying to minimize the disruption to the residents of each area where work is being carried out, since we know that they may cause some inconvenience, but they are necessary and ultimately result in the improvement of sidewalks and street surfaces, and it is the citizens who will ultimately benefit in the immediate future.”.
For his part, Pascual Maximino highlighted the “relevance” of the project in terms of “achieving a substantial improvement in the quality of service received by users, as well as maintaining the drinking water supply and sewage networks in the best technical condition.”.
The improvement plan also includes work on Esport, Francisco Tárrega, Doctor Ferrán, Sant Gaetà, Poeta Llorente, Pablo Iglesias, Sant Pere, Sant Agustí, Zaragoza, Santo Tomás, Tarongers, Mare de Déu de Lourdes, Alvador Giner, Vinaralls, Avenida Mediterránea, José Polo Bernabé, and Paseo San Juan Bosco streets. Furthermore, to increase the flow of the drinking water network in the Poblados Marítimos area during the summer months, the main thoroughfares that converge at the intersection of Avenida Jaime Chicharro and Avenida Cardenal Tarancón will also be connected.
On the other hand, to allow for any necessary repairs without disrupting the water supply, a section of the water network will be shut down at the Camí de La Serratella. In addition, a bypass tank will be installed from the La Plana Consortium network to ensure uninterrupted supply during maintenance operations. Furthermore, monitoring equipment will be installed in the sewer system along Paseo San Juan Bosco to continuously record the concentration of various gases present in the sewer.
