Borriana begins preventative treatment campaign against rats and cockroaches

Facsa disarmament campaign Borriana disinfestation

The Health Councillor of Borriana City Council, Manel Navarro, has visited the workers of FACSA, the company that manages the water supply and sewage service in the city, who have started the campaign to treat the municipality's sewage system to prevent the proliferation of possible rat and cockroach infestations.

As explained by both the councilor, Manel Navarro, and the technical staff of FACSA, "this is a comprehensive sweep carried out by several teams to make it as quick as possible, and in this way, catch the reproduction and growth cycle of these insects in time.".

Furthermore, with the aim of improving the effectiveness of the ongoing treatment, the council and the contracting company remind the residents of Burriana to use household cleaning products inside buildings and private water connections. All this information and preventative advice can be found in informational leaflets available to residents at various municipal buildings.

According to both the municipal representative and company officials who conducted the inspection, "the treatment currently being applied is long-lasting." The product being used is the most effective for this type of prevention, as it breaks the cockroach life and growth cycle by acting through both contact and inhalation.

Furthermore, the company has indicated that "reinforcements will also be carried out both in the months of June and July and at the end of August, in addition to periodic reviews and visual inspections.".
