Alcalà-Alcossebre now has two new reverse osmosis water fountains that will serve the residents of the municipality. In Alcalà, the fountain is located on Camino San Miguel, next to the sports pavilion and municipal gym, while in Alcossebre, it has been installed next to the Las Fuentes municipal gym.
Both facilities have the capacity to supply 2,880 liters of treated water per day, a product very similar to much of the bottled water available on the market, offering high quality and free of impurities. Residents will be able to access the reverse osmosis water through taps installed outside the two new facilities.
The town's mayor, Francisco Juan, explained that "we think it will be very convenient for our residents to travel to where both fountains are located and be able to consume the treated water, since being located in sports areas, they are also close to places where the water is consumed immediately.".
The construction of the two plants had a budget of 50,000 euros, an action that forms part of the initial investments committed within the framework of the contract between the Alcalà de Xivert City Council and FACSA, relating to the concession of the Municipal Drinking Water Supply Service for homes in 2008. “This service that we offer in collaboration with the Alcalà-Alcossebre City Council has allowed us to adapt accessible facilities that will provide greater comfort to the user who, through this process, which is totally respectful of the environment, will be able to enjoy from today a quality resource, free of dissolved minerals and other impurities,» explained Benjamín Eixarch, head of service of FACSA in Alcalà.
In turn, Pascual Maximino, Director of the Supply Area at FACSA, emphasized that “this action is yet another example of the social commitment that FACSA and the Alcalà-Alcossebre City Council have to provide citizens with the best service, always applying the most innovative and environmentally friendly technology.”
For his part, the town's mayor highlighted other actions undertaken by the company under the contract, such as the modernization and renewal of the water supply service. "In fact, last year alone, 3,000 meters of pipes were replaced, which has allowed us to optimize the entire system," Francisco Juan emphasized.
