AEAS appoints Francesc Gavara as coordinator of the 'Accountants Working Group'

Francesc Gavara, head of the Comprehensive Meter Management Department at FACSA, has recently been appointed coordinator of the 'Meter Working Group' of Commission III of the Spanish Association of Water Supply and Sanitation (AEAS).

Currently, this working group's main objective is to contribute different technical experiences that clarify the effect that the development of new technologies in the field of communications, as well as the new legislation relating to meters, may have in the coming years.

With a PhD in Hydraulic and Environmental Engineering, he is a co-author of various articles and presentations at conferences on water loss and efficiency organized by the International Water Association, as well as in various specialized industry journals. Gavara has managed drinking water supply and sewage services for FACSA in different municipalities for over 15 years. His doctoral thesis, the result of more than 10 years of joint research with the ITA of the Universitat Politècnica de València, addresses the metrological behavior and management of water meter stock. He is a member of the Metrology and Calibration Committee of the Spanish Association for Standardization (UNE). He recently completed his Executive MBA at ESADE Business School, undertaking international academic stays at various universities, including Aalto University (Helsinki), HEC Paris, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, and Georgetown University (Washington, D.C.).
