FACSA and IoTsens consolidate their leadership in the sector of cutting-edge technologies applied to the Integrated Water Cycle. Representatives from Abu Dhabi Water (AADC) visited the facilities of both companies in Castellón yesterday to learn about the latest advancements in the remote meter reading system they have implemented both in the province and in the international market.
Representatives from the Emirati company showed particular interest in the smart water meter installation project underway in Castellón de la Plana. This project will see nearly 14,000 smart water meters managed under a single data and communications platform, FACSA's "Smart Water" – IoTsens, by the end of this year. They were also interested in the pilot project launched in the Pilar and Nou Crist del Calvari neighborhoods of Vila-Real, which has allowed for the replacement of over 600 meters at no cost to customers and the detection of leaks in real time, resulting in significant water savings.
Among other advantages, this remote meter reading system, which has already been installed at more than 9,000 points and will soon be extended to the urban area of the Castellón town, will allow real-time consultation of consumption data and detection of possible anomalies, resulting in an improved billing process and greater control of consumption by the user.
As Ignacio Llopis, Managing Director of IoTsens, pointed out, this project represents “an end-to-end tool that allows managing the entire process, from data collection through reading smart meters, through the creation of its own communication networks with LORAWAN communication or Big Data support for data processing and analysis, to the monitoring of the same.”.
José Luis Vilar, CEO of Grupo Gimeno, and Miguel Ortiz, Head of the Technical Department of the Supply Area at FACSA, presented the company to the visitors. Meanwhile, Ignacio Llopis, Manolo Gasch, R&D Director of IoTsens, and Miguel Ortiz explained the FACSA and IoTsens remote meter reading project to the representatives of the visiting company.
Representatives from different departments involved in the management of remote meter reading traveled to the FACSA and IoTsens facilities of the Emirati company.
The interest shown by the Abu Dhabi Waters company, as Ignacio Llopis concluded, represents recognition of "FACSA and IoTsens' significant commitment to innovation, which makes the Castellón-based company an international benchmark in the field of smart water meters.".
IoTsens is the company specializing in comprehensive hardware and software solutions for the Internet of Things, developed by ADC Infraestructuras y Sistemas of Grupo Gimeno.
The IoTsens platform, a pioneer in the national and international scene, allows the collection, integration, storage and analysis of diverse information from a global perspective, facilitating immediate and accurate decision-making through data collection and processing.
This tool manages solutions applied to four areas: Industry, Water Management, the Environment, and Smart Cities. For example, the use of this type of technology allows for the control of parameters such as humidity, pipe flow, air quality, park irrigation, garbage container fill levels, noise, and light levels.
